Lewisham Homes Repairs Service Update
In view of the increasing levels of Covid and requirement to self-isolate impacting both our staff and contractors we have taken the decision that from 24 December, Lewisham Homes will only be scheduling essential and emergency repairs as we did in the first lockdown in the Spring. There has been increased pressure on the service for some time, and we have taken this decision to ensure that we can respond to essential and emergency repairs.
We will not be cancelling any jobs. All repairs currently booked in will be honoured.
Electrical and Automatic Fire Detection programmes will continue as normal.
We have robust risk assessments in place to mitigate the risk posed by Covid-19. All Repairs risk assessments identify Covid-secure measures to be applied within tasks and job roles; each member of staff has an up-to-date individual risk assessment which identifies their vulnerability to the virus and implements appropriate precautions; residents calling-in with a repair request are asked a set of questions to ascertain any Covid-19 risk to our staff; and each operative follows a ‘doorstep’ dynamic risk assessment when the resident answers the door and before entering. Staff are provided with appropriate PPE including face coverings, face masks, and respirators dependent on the level of risk posed.
